Boracay Rum - Capturing the Boracay Island Vibe Anywhere in the Country

I love travelling, and my dream is to someday travel all the beautiful places in the Philippines. Unfortunately, though, I have a fear of flying. So, even though I wanted so bad to visit places like Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, and of course, the famous island of Boracay, I couldn't do so. Well, not right now, and not unless I conquer my fear and board an airplane (hopefully a prize for a blog writing contest could help me conquer my fear. ha ha).

For someone who loves nature, my fear, known as aerophobia, is such a dilemma. It's a good thing that where I am located, which is Luzon, you don't need to hop on a plane to visit gorgeous beaches. South Luzon has the beaches of Batanggas, Mindoro, and Camsur (where you can go wakeboarding), while North Luzon boasts of the beaches of Bataan, Pangasinan, La Union, Zambales, and Ilocos that includes the beach called 'Blue Lagoon' in Pagudpud, which has been coined as the 'Boracay of the North. I have not visited all the beaches in Luzon, but I have been to most of them, even the beautiful (and used to be unspoiled) Potipot Island in Zambales.

A few weeks ago, I was lucky to have had the chance to visit the said Island again, this time with relatives. The island has been a favorite destination of ours, since it's quite near, just a few hours' drive from where we live. Also, we love staying at the Alta Nina resort, because it's cheap, they have nice rooms, it's a few minutes (6, to be exact) away from the island, and the owner, Tita Nina, is very kind and accommodating.

What made our trip more fun, of course, were the drinking sessions. This time, though, we were bringing along a new kind of drink from Tanduay, called 'Boracay Rum'. I knew that a bottle of Boracay Rum holds a great promise, since throughout our travel; I noticed that there were loads of tarpaulins of the product all over the province of Zambales. Surely a product that has all those advertisements tastes great! We chose the Coconut flavored one (it also has a Cappuccino flavor one), since it's more appropriate for where we're going. The drink did taste great, with the coconut flavor complimenting the taste of the rum, and we were able to drink it pure, with no ice. Of course it tasted better with ice, but the fact that it was awesome even without one, will make the money you paid all worth it.

I took Boracay Rum with me to Potipot Island, and captured the Boracay Island vibe, even when we were on a different island. The question now is where will I take my Boracay Rum next? The answer will probably in Bagac, Bataan or Sual, Pangasinan, where we are set to visit these coming weeks.
